It's Halloween!

Add ImageTonight my creatures of the night will seek out candy while being harassed by scary lit up and motorized yard ornaments and crazy yappy dogs at most of the doors that greet them. Hey, that's what it's all about! I love every minute of it. Pictures to come...

Something I need to remember.

This would be my camera. We have two digital cameras and one video and we always forget them when we venture out or the event has passed before we think of using them. Today I will be able to get the kids from school and attend Bella's soccer practice and I forgot my camera again. I never get to attend the practices because of my hours. At least most of the games are on Saturday! So, I will make a point to remember my camera for the next time.

Nanna and Nannu have season passes to Disney that will be expiring this Sunday. So they are going to go one last time and take Bella along with them on Saturday. She will be missing a soccer game, but how could you pass up a day to Epcot right? What's really cool is there is a new restaurant at Downtown Disney that I know she will go crazy over. There is already the Rainforest Cafe' but now there is the T-Rex Restaurant! I am not sure if Nannu and Nannu will swing her by there to see it or not, but I do know that I will have to save my pennies to take her there someday. Heck, Downtown Disney is free and going in and walking around is free too.

Tonight my personal project is to carve my pumpkin! Chris carved his and ended up carving Bella's too. She was over it after spending 20 mins cleaning out the inside of hers. They both look really neat. I am going to use the stem as his nose on mine and I will have Bella help me if she wants to. We shall see if we can make anything out of it!

I can't feel my feet...

I work in an office where they run the air conditioning no matter what the temperature outside may be and I do not believe that the thermostat works because it's constantly running. I have been forced to wear socks today. For those that know me well, know that I despise the confinement of socks and laced up shoes. I managed to still wear my Birks but it's so cold in here I have to keep my socks on! Most people here at work, come to visit me and always see me with my shoes slipped off and I think they documented this sock wearing day on their calendar. I love the cold weather but I would rather have it stay outdoors!

I have added some more goodies here. The beer of the day because I love my brews and perhaps someone will see something interesting to try. There is a section for Chris and his home brewing news and brews. He's made some great beer. Some I loved so much they barely had a chance to fully mature before they were gone! There are some that have a strong hoppy taste and full bodied. Those are like a snack in a glass and one tall one will make you feel pretty good! Chris really enjoys making them. Then there is the Van Gogh of the day because I love his work. I also included a Cookery Connection with links I enjoy. The chefs listed make some great dishes and I like their techniques. I know Epicurious is so "commercial" but I get the Bon Appetite magazine monthly and I have to say that every recipe I used from those books were very satisfying and I am sure made them more than once. Just ask Chris about the Chicken with radicchio with a fennel caper sauce!

I will get some new pictures coming and I hope to be able to get some Nessa recipes on here too. Just a matter of time management!

Bella and her bob. So cute.

Still working on it...

I am still working on my blog. I am trying to insert cool items and things I find useful and perhaps even interesting to others. I still have more to go. It all takes time and that's one thing I am still learning how to manage more efficiently!

Today was our first day of cool weather! It's 63 degrees outside and not a cloud in the sky. From what I can see from my office window, it looks like the most beautiful blue I have seen. Too bad I can't be out there to enjoy it until around 6:00pm!

I have just booked tickets for The Nutcracker in December for Bella and I. I don't know who's more excited, her or I! I have never seen a ballet and I know she will be awestruck by the theatre, music, lighting, and the performance. I can't wait to take her. It's something I have always wanted to do as a kid and now I get to experience it with her and through her young eyes. I hope to have more items on for tomorrow. Until then, enjoy!

I am back tracking here 5 years with this picture. It's Bella and her daddy. I was flipping through old pics last night and I just could not believe how much bigger she was. She really loved her bottles and food back then! I ran across this pic and I remembered how much a of favorite it is to me. Thought I would share it along.

Here's a pic of my Little Man. He's almost 11 months old and teething like mad! Chews on anything that crosses his path or is within reach. Watch out, here he comes! Loves to do raspberries and as you can see, it gets all over. I don't care, it makes him happy. What's another onsie in the laundry right?

Hold my breath and just jump!

Blogs away! I have to say I have been reluctant to create a blog. I do find though with all that goes on daily in my life, it's hard to get the time in to send pictures to relatives, talk to friends, and keep up with everyday adventures. Perhaps this is my outlet and your illumination. My challenge will be to keep it going! So give me a little time to get things pretty and we'll get going on this thing!

Above is a picture of Chris and I from many years ago up in the Smoky Mountains. We used to go there yearly to camp, hike and just get away for a while. It's been a long time since we have had the opportunity to do that. We now plan on taking the kids there with us where we can show them how beautiful it is. I am just waiting for my Little Man to get just a bit bigger before I go tenting in the woods!
